great addition! I read a pretty good tech article in the Garage Journal for compressor installation, I couldn't find it but, the guy use hockey pucks as vibration dampeners. great chop!

great work man !! i need to get going on my 50 ... the 54 seem to get in the way

 

That's why I moved my 54 outside and wrapped it in a tarp to keep it dry. Out of sight, out of mind....kinda?

Very nice build thread you have going on here. You're doing a tasteful job on that 4 door. Subscribed!!!

 

What gas tank are you going to use? I removed my filler door also. However, I am not sure what to use for a tank. Any ideas?

 

Actually....the Bar X Hot Rod shirts are being made right now! They will look like my avatar. I will let you know when they come in.

I am using a reproduction plastic tank from National Chevy. And that's a really nice '51 you are building!

 

Great buy on that compressor.
2 things,
I moved my compressor out side on a concrete pad I poured and built a lean to type roof to cover it, it alot quieter now and no heat issues in the shop.

Or you could get 1 inch duct board and Build a closet around it floor to ceailing and cut a opening thru the sheetrock of the ceiling to let the heat rise up out of the box you just made for it.

mrconcdid~ I have been debating doing one or the other. I'm going to try it where it is for now and see how it does because I am hoping within the next two years to build me a little shop behind the house, hopefully!

 

Hows the gl*** comming on the 51?

 

mrconcdid~ No gl*** work yet. Still working on metal finishing. Its on the list, I wasnt going to worry about the side gl*** right now cause its easy, but I really need to get the front windsheild ordered and cut so I can get the trial fit out of the way before paint. But I still have a ways to go before that.

Thanks Plung, no progess this weekend , went to a swap meet Saturday and got rear ended on the way home, was laid up with a sore neck Sunday. i am going to try and get back on it this weekend though!

 

Damn, first the motorcycle wreck, now this. You may have to ask Doug to drive the 51 around once it's done so it doesn't get ran into! :0
