    Hey Chris,
What a great job. While working with Custom Works in Paso Robles, I did most of the work on the Famoso Speed Shop 51 Chevy. Strangely enough it too came in as a custom. Enjoy your ride. Bring her down to Dragfest!

Chris, I think he means the standoff that ties the steering drag link to the axle. I've got the same "stud" on my Speedway axle, and with the nice little hardened tapered spacers I don't see it as a problem. At least mine's working great!
Love your Chevy gasser! I also think it looks way cool in the satin black!
I got one of those "gay" 4 door gassers.;)

Different tires on the front. Got rid of the vw tires in favor of some 560-15 bias whites. All new side glass and fuel cell going in soon

Nice look with the front bias plys. I'm wanting to do the same thing ....but the rear hurst cheaters are recaps on a radial tire..... so if we put bais plys on the front and have radials on the back is it going to a hazard waiting to happen. or is it ok?

Im thinkin about a hot rod flatz dark red pearl satin where its black, and the top will stay bare metal but get "machine turned" with a small sanding disc. Like fish scaled, kinda. Then Im considering doing red windows and the engine will be metallic gold with white headers. Throwing around some names for the side which will be done in gold metal flake with a thick black dropshadow.

I just put the fronts on, before that the fronts were radial and the rears were bias. Drove it for two months that way with no issues. I honestly cant tell the difference.

Don't worry about the Tyres. The rules are Radials to the Rear.

    Looks good either way.

Just read every post on this thread.
    Opinions, Opinions...WOW!

I like both looks of the car, but the sled look was under the radar,
cool looking... but typical and not "exciting".
The new set up is an attention grabber for sure.

Sounds like you can't wipe the smile off your face,
and ain't that what it's all about?!

Latest on the 51. Got the tunnel ram on with a couple holley 450s and progressive linkage. Runs great. Ive never had a setup like this before but it was pretty no nonsense. Also heres a cool pic someone took of my car at a recent show.
