I'm trying to decide what size tires to put on my 51 Chevy. I'm going to go with the bias-plys and I want something smaller than stock for the reduced over all height of the tire. Rodder's Journal 29 has a feature about a 50 CHevy owed by Robert Roling that has 5.90-15's on it. Has anyone else run this size tire or know how they worked out for him?
I had 560's on my 50 chevy at one time. I always thought they were too small. Kind of swam in the wheel wells. I think my friend was telling me there is another size between 560 and 78's maybe 670? he had to special order them but they look cool.. here's the 560's here's his 53 with the 670's..i think they look great. a little smaller than 78's but not too small.
Thanks for the info. Does any one have any pictures of a 49-52 Chevy with 185/70 r15s on it? They are about the same size as the 5.90s I was thinking about

Thanks Sam F. The 6.40 look to be a popular choice, I like the large white wall too. How much did you lower the front?
i dont know for sure,,,,i never took an actual before measurment,,i just kept lowering and working the suspension untill it looked right to me...
