I have been taxed with selling my brothers truck. He has cancer and probably less than 2 weeks left. He got this truck several years ago. First thing done was new brakes all around. Hoses, cylinders, shoes... All new. Later on he decided the old flathead 6 wasn't going to be very good for hwy driving so we swapped in a good running 318 and 904 I rebuilt for it. He installed a Dakota digital cluster. The truck runs and drives but has sat quite a bit the last couple of years and may need a little tlc. As far as I remember there is very little rust. Update: It does have new bed wook kit with it. I am just not sure how to value and price it. Since these pics were taken an aluminum intake and Edelbrock 4 bbl have been added.
That's a tough one to put a price on. This era Dodge truck is not exactly sought-after, but at least around here, any 50's truck that runs and drives (especially with a V8 swap) and not rusty, never sells cheap. If I had to pull a number out of my butt, I'd say $7k-$8K. Market might be way different in Texas though.
There are trim pieces on those trucks that change the value dramatically if they are present and in good shape, or damaged, or missing. Running, driving, with those trim pieces intact and in decent condition, with a new uninstalled wood kit, and proper paperwork probably puts Squablow's numbers pretty close. Those trucks are popular with Dodge truck guys, but finding a buyer willing to spend money right now may be tough. Might be a great candidate for the HAMB Auction.
Sorry to hear about your brother. As mentioned, those trucks do not have much wide spread popularity. Realistically I would put it in the $2500-5000 range based on what I see happening in the market.
Just looking at one that sold on Bring a Trailer. Stock 6 cylinder, 3 speed, faux patina, heater not working, new wood in bed, windows don't work properly. If it was a 5 window, it would be a lot more desirable, but it's not. It sold for $14,500. Sounds to me like yours would be worth considerably more. If you sell it for more than the other truck, my expert opinion will cost you a beer next time I'm in Wautauga[emoji6]
I would list it on the bay at 4999. and see what happens. BAT is very picky about who and what they let list....... although they do bring crazy high prices.
