I am looking for information on how to replace the hinges on the doors on my 51 Ford F-1 pickup. Has anyone done this and if so how did you do it? The hinges are riveted to the door.

  2. I can't help you with that but I drilled mine out and pressed bushings in them on one set and another was good enough to use the oversize pins that are available. If nothing else, they sell precision drill bits that you could drill out the hinges with and machine new pins that are the correct size. If you have machine capabilities this isn't to hard. If you're dealing with bent metal or hinges, I would be making a jig and using hydraulic power to straighten things. :)

Well, the best thing is to avoid this if at all possible. The hinges were screwed/bolted to the body and welded, at least mine were.
As far as changing pins...like for a mirror or even changing a door, lots of work and patience.
The door hinges on an F1 look deceptively simple but in reality, they are a pain in the ****!
Like with all pain in the **** stuff...patience and work smart and slow.
