I'm currently in the process of converting the 6v to a 12v system in my 51 Ford coupe w/8ba (and electrical is not my strong point:eek: ) the car has been re-wired at some point, the genius who re-wired it had 3 favorite colors Red, Blue and yellow!!! with no trace wire codes! (Rats nest)
I do have some questions to get this thing on the road! I have "The Official 12-volt conversion guide" by Randy Rundle and it has been a help to a fair degree...

I have all the elements (Alt, 12v Batt, 12v coil, Mallory dual point dist, "DA" plug)

Here is were I'm a little stumped,

I'm reversing polarity, and with the Mallory Dual point and Mallory coil. Were does my (+) wirefrom the coil attach on my Dist and where does the (-) wire of my coil now attatch to? Where do the wires from the "DA" plug attach to?(white & Red) or should I just run a "one" wire from the Alt to the Batt?

 I'm sure to pull my head out one day and see the light, just need some help! Thanx...

+ wire from the ignition; (-) wire to the dizzy. Can't help you with the alternator.

When in doubt Ive always just cut the white wire, loop the red around back to the B+ terminal, run B+ to batt. Start the car, rev it a tad, you will see the voltmeter jump and you are good to go.
