Looks like you are on your way with the build, I am running a 302 / C-4 / 9" and its been a perfect combo. Plus all the "Ford in a Ford" guys get really turned on about it! Keep the progress coming, best of luck.

Man, I forgot about this thread - glad I found it again.

You've been busting butt on this thing and it shows. Looking good on the way to great.

I go in fits and starts on my '55 Chevy truck. I have a couple HVLP spray guns that I found new at an oulet place and even a big 60 gallon upright compressor but I've never painted before and I guess I'm kind of a pussy because Ive not just tried mixing up some primer and letting fly! But you've inspired me!

I was wondering the same thing. 3.00's? Or 2.50's?

Thanks guys!!! I'll be putting the bed and hood on it tonight but will wait a week to assemble everything else so that way the paint is harder. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1379437265.176589.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1379437328.698819.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1379437356.129375.jpg

The Rod Shop makes an excellent front suspension kit for your truck, I put one on my 48 F1 and love it. Sits low, rides excellent. It has a manual rack steering set up and coil over shocks for ride adjustment, American made. Reasonably priced. "just a thought"

Drptop70ss it was the emerald green metallic acrylic urethane. It is single stage metallic so it is kind of a pain to lay on even. We used a sealer over the whole truck to get the color more even. The sun almost came out when I got it in my yard so I snapped another shot. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1379469422.531010.jpg

Looks great, I never knew about them for paint, looks like they have some good deals. I need a green for a GMC truck and that is what I was looking for. I may go BC/CC since I have only shot solid colors in single stage but you did a great job in getting an even color.

I see the paint is not to be reduced, did it take the whole gallon to paint the truck? Would you have had enough to do the whole truck instead of just the lower half?

We used a slow reducer so it would flow better and not tack up so quick. I would recommend a BC/Cc like you mentioned. It would be way easier than SS metallic. It would be much better to color sand/polish as well. I'm worried if I color sand it, there will be some shadows in the metallic.
    Rock on!

Now just swap that thing to 5 lug and get some different wheels and tires and all will be complete. If you are running a mustang 8.8 from a fox mustang 79-93 then getting Ranger 83-95 driver side axles and drums will solve the rear. Utilizing the 94-95 Mustang v6 or V8 front spindles will get you the front and the ability to run larger brakes if you ever feel the need. Will open up a wide range of wheel and tire options to you.

Great truck. Love the color combo!
