51 Power Steering question

so I've heard that an ok replacement for the 51 chevy rear steer is to put in a Dodge omni Rack and pinion system.


I dug this one up from some time ago, but after searching on here till my eyes went crossed (seriously been 2 hours looking into this) the only real tidbit I could find is this:

i think the cavalier center steer is a more popular swap ....maybe search that??

 

I figure if there was a 100% workable R&P setup for 49 -54 chevrolets that FATMAN would be selling them. I talked to them before and they have tried and come up with nothing.

if god wanted 51 chevys to have rack and pinion he would not have put such a big steering wheel in them.
