Hello, I've been a "lurker" here on the H.A.M.B. for the past few years. I've been around classic cars for the majority of my life, mostly due to my grandfather's passion for restoring and wrenching on '50s era vehicles. I've recently acquired my first classic/ Kustom of my own and would like to see if anyone from the Texas/ Louisiana area can give me a bit more history on my ride. The FACTS: -1951 Ford "Shoebox" w/ 1949 front sheet metal/ louvered hood. -Chevy 305/ TH350 -Late '50s Ford 9" rear end. -Car has been "clipped" with a 1985 Monte Carlo front suspension. -Full air ride suspension. Not personal choice, but the car was set-up right with Thorbecke Bros. tubular control arms up front and a Gambino's tail dragger kit out back. The "supposed" FACTS: -Car was built in Texas. -Built by a guy named Mike Iacono. -Chopped by Frank Palmer. That's about all I know about the car from the previous owner(s). Just looking to see if anyone can confirm the "supposed" facts I've provided and possibly add to the history of this car. All comments and opinions are welcome. Thanks in advance. This is how the car looks, currently. And a few of how it would've looked before it made the trip from TX to LA. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
