cool!!!!! glad to see that car getting some love.. that is a nice car to atrat with.. i drove that a car , and in it years ago.. keep on it, and good luck!!! dave
Yikes- where you hiding the roof? I wish I never sold that car but I would swear that I have A.D.D. Good luck man, that is gonna be one sweet ride.
Hey Glassguy, as you would say, that dash and wheel aint gonna install themselves. Git your ass over here and get crackin.
man you are dead on it !!!! but now that your all happy with it we need to discuss the headlites!! j/k dinkweed!lol i found the insert tool for your gasket.. the side mouding changed the whole car, proportions are now perfect.. im still thinkin black body, copper roof, and matching copper dots in the stude hubcaps.. cya tmorrow....
glassguy- what would I do without you as my style consultant. (find out about that Econoline for me..) I cannot wait to get this thing off the jack stands and back on the ground. I want to push it outside for the full affect. Its all the the stuff that is left to do that I really don't enjoy. Wiring, brake lines, motor stuff. No wonder I end up selling them before I finish them. I cannot wait to see how this thing drives though... Just sitting in it is very comfortable because of the g-body pan which drops down in between the frame rails. Later.
lt's coming along real nice, Honky!! It was great catching up with you and the Assguy, and seeing it in person. It took me 3 hours to get home with the traffic that night...sucked bad!! Believe it or not, Dave's right for once, that trim gives it a real nice line! Keep the updates coming...please. PS: Be real careful what you use Dave to consult on...if you know what I mean!!
OK Im gonna have to get in on this and say listen to your style consultant and put in them headlites. All joking aside looks great man
Thanks- I am happy how the stainless is working out. Just took a little extra planning at the beginning. Bad part is that I still have to do the drivers side...
Just came across this one. I'm a fan already. Love the roll under you've done on the grille opening and the chop is viciously cool. I was going to add, for your concideration, a thought regarding the headlight treatment but I think your solution makes it unnecessary. Just for kicks, tho; I was thinking, maybe 51 Studebaker assy.(s) canted at a tasteful angle. I also think you nailed it with the wheel openings and the rear quarters! The attitude it does exude, dude! Reminds me of my (literal) "Dream Car". ( Just saw a '53 for sale 45 miles away, a field car with lots of oxidation but may be okay for a project. Need to get a closer look.) (note: the sketch below was a quickly I did in the morning so I wouldn't lose the idea my mind had conceived while I slept)
Thanks for the compliments Jigger. I Love that 53 rendering! That is awesome. I always wished that I could draw cars like you do. Get over there and pick up that field car and get started before someone else does.
when I look back over the past year, it is cool to realise how much work I have accomplished on this pile of left for dead carcass of a victoria. Along the way, I have enlisted a couple of friends like glassguy who always seems to talk me off the ledge when I get frustrated with one thing or another. He doesn't leave the city limits of Peabody too often but when he does, he is a big help. Then there is Chuck, who always manages to come through without any coaxing when I need help with the motor stuff. I hope to get this thing running before the new year and ready for its maiden voyage to the Glassguys shop in Peabody. I will post some progress pics soon. I am so anxious to get this thing running and see how it rides. Just sitting in it is more comfortable than my daily driver. I
I can sense a snuggle fest for you in the Assguys lair real soon in your future, Honky!! Never mind the sensativity...bring on the updates!!
Ambitious? REALLY? Ambitious? This whole project is nothing but ambitious! Beside's, this is the northeast, snow tires in the spring? Not out of the question! LOL
Still so much to do. I will mount the hood once finished putting motor together. Looks sick with the hood on it as it evens it out and gives the nose more of a heavy look
