52 Buick turn signal/brake light question

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by youngster_'52, Oct 13, 2010.

1. Hey Guys,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:" />

i have 52’ Buick and am putting in a Ron Francis wiring harness.
The kit is set up to use a newer style GM steering column.
I am using the original Buick column though. The turn signal switch has 6 wires coming of (diagram).
The Buick used to have 2 light bulbs each side. I am now using a single unit with a 2 filament bulb.
I got the old turn signal switch working but can’t figure out how to hook up the brake lights. When the turn signal is activated and I hit the brakes, the light just stays on and doesn’t flash like it should.

From the looks of that wiring diagram you will have to use a seperate bulb for the TS in the rear.

3. is there no way to make it work with the stuff i have?
