First post in the new custom forum, had a thread on the main forum before but i figured id continue it here since it is the appropriate place. basically i started with a completly stripped 52 pontiac 4 door that I paid 250 bucks for, this is the first car i went all out on, and basically bought it to really learn about and test myself on how to do major body mods, if it didnt work out, i had only lost 250 bucks, if it did, then maybe id have something to work with. well after 8 years, with a ton of life curve balls inbetween, including a divorce, some how this baby stayed with me so heres some pics, and plan to keep this updated and possibly finish it this year.
Well, ive thought alot on this, and the narrowed down the choices it will be either a deep dark purple or a dark rootbeer exterior, glossy, with a lighter color interior, maybe an cream color, with a deep dark brown insert, i do have a wild hair for pagan gold too, but i want it to be subtly ***y, and not eye busting,so i may just accent it with the gold. the trim, will retain the stock belt sharks fin trim, modified with fleetline end spears instead of going around the back of the roof, and stock rocker moldings, 1950 pontiac sombreros, and a 47 cadilac bumper up front and the stock shaved bumper out back.everything else shaved, i am undecided on the hood strip, i love that its a pontiac but i dont beleive it will go with my final vision. Ive retained all of the stock running gear, 268 straight 8, dual range hydro, 308 in the rear. I have bagged it all the way around utilizing and modifying the stock suspension up front and a triangulated 4 link in the rear. I have replaced or rebuilt everything in or under it. The final stage is all of the pretty work and finishing all the body mods.
one of the coolest cars I've ever seen.....I like the Derelict look it is now but whatever you do, I know it will be cool based on how sick you've gone with it already, also real nice that you stuck with her all this long..
Might have been worth the divorce.... proportions look great. In all seriousness may b e the hardship kept you focused. You did great. Looks beautiful.
Nice!, any updates? This is really interesting. What about modifying the hood trim to make it your own, but still be Pontiac style?
Well alot has been done, nothing too visible, but it runs, drives, has a floor, has alot of small details done, has even been registered! But still not finished, slowly but surely im sticking with it fellas
