Wondering if anyone knows (or can measure) the height and width of a '52 chevy (5 bar) grill. I remember someone here saying they are the same part as the standard chevy trucks but when I called LMC truck, whoever I got didn't know what a cab over was and couldn't verify before I shelled out $500. Im thinking of making one a bit different than the norm. Im from Vermont, I'll do what I want!
The 3/4 ton and larger trucks have bigger grills than the 1\2 tons. I bought a 1/2 ton grill for the 3/4 ton GMC first series i had and it was smaller. The peeps at chev's of the 40's could help.
Actually it's the 1/2 ton thru 1 ton grilles that are the same. The 1 1/2 ton, & 2 ton grilles are taller because the grille bars are spaced further apart. There's a guy on the website www.stovebolt.com , that recently shared how he modified one of the chrome repo. pickup grilles to fit his '47-'53 Chevy COE.
ditto. please post a link. I don't have an option to post a pic of the cooling system ducting but shouldn't the grill be same measurement as that? http://www.flickr.com/photos/10198595@N06/3557846902/ this is what im going for, perfect for a food truck. This or vintage meat cleavers.
