what is the differnces in a 1952 crestline 4 door then from a 1954 crestline 4 door ??? i know they are the same bodies but what is the differnce is it cosmetic stuff and if so what things????
Check your pm, all the gl*** interchanges and the trunk and rear bumper and rear ends interchange and the hood and hood hinges interchange, the 1954 front fenders and inner fender are attached differently because of the change in suspensions that year. You can interchange everything in the interior the exterior trim is different.
Actually Ford introduced the Crestliner in July of 1950 which Ford hastily put together to compete with the first Chevrolet Bel Airs ( Source: Fords of the Fifties by Micheal Parris an excellent book on these early Fords) the first Crestliners(shortened to Crestline in 1952) became the Victoria, a picture of the 1952 Crestline is in the book. Also in 1952 and 1953 the Crestline script and the V8 emblem was on those models located on the front fender on Victorias,Sunliners and Country Squires. As car nut341 stated the first Crestline 4 door was 1954,Ford made some mid year changes in the early 50's and some of that was because of material shortages from the Korean War and because some Ford Plants were producing military equipment.
