Hooray! Progress! I think that gear ratio is about right - are you running 16 inch tires?

Right now I am, I have the wheels and tires that came with the truck which are brand new 16" BFGs. However, I do want to change to some 15" for the aluminum slots I bought for it, they really look good on it.

i dont think there is much of a threat there, but I do want to get it done and off my lift. I am going to get the wiring sorted the next couple of days. I have to work on my Diesel truck this weekend I think. so that will slow it down a little.

Once I get the wiring sorted out, I intend to fit the front sheet metal, then the firewall, then install the engine/trans and so on.

I have made some progress in the last several weeks, got the wiring 98% sorted, got the glove box built and installed and fabricated a bracket for the parking brake mech and installed it all. I will post some pics next.

On even a higher note, I was visited by Gary (73RR) today; awesome guy. I was able to off load all of my old 330 Desoto parts... I think Gary thinks he got the better end of the deal but cleaning out some of that stuff was a joy for me.

i would measure it, but I am currently in France so... I need to route the hose before I put the replacement firewall in (dont have to but it will be easier).

For all those following this thread, the truck looks even better in person than in the pics. I hadn't taken the time to ever look at a 1st gen Dak front suspension package and am pleasantly surprised at how neat-tidy-compact they are. The r&p and disc brakes are icing on the cake.
    Great project!!

I really appreciate the comments Gary. While we all tend to build our projects to our own tastes, it is nice to know that others appreciate all your hard work

For me there was never an option. I am a die hard mopar fan and would never have considered anything else.

anyone know where you can find defroster hose; I think it is 1.5" ID. I saw on a forum somewhere that some Studebaker site had it but didnt find it. I have been running searches online but really havent found much. I did email Roberts but he doesnt have anything. One would think there has to be something out there. I did find a 50' roll of it for $80, but I dont really need 50'. guess I could always resell it.

thanks, like I mentioned, I can get it from Summit for $19/6' lengths, so I will do that once I confirm the outlet size of the heater.

I am getting very close to putting the replacement firewall in and that will be followed by the engine/trans; I can see the light flickering at the end of the tunnel...

I have returned to work on the "Black Dragon"... I have got the wiring 99% done (under the dash), master cylinder installed, brake pedal, steerng column, driver's side floor, antenna, and one brake line. I will get some pictures this weekend.

a couple of pics. As you can see, I am using the spring covering from them Dak lines; I think it gives a "factory" look to it as well as provides some protection. For those wondering, I made these lines from a roll of 3/16 armor coat steel line; I recycled the fittings and the spring covering.
