    Hello again all;

    Quick question, does any one have or know of the dimensions of a rear fender for a 1952 Dodge pickup? My truck didnt have a box so i am fabricating my own and just looking for a rough idea of where to start for rear fenders...

    Basically would this work...

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/26089421653...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1076wt_1059

    is the opening too small, too big (if so which way, height, width?)

    any insight is greatly appreciated

    Not big enough. Depends what size tires you will be using but I expect they will be bigger than 32" diameter. You need fenders about a foot bigger than the tire. Think about how much clearance you need for bouncing, mud, etc.

    Have you tried your local auto parts store? They may not have a listing for 52 Dodge fenders but Dodge used a kind of plain, generic looking fender into the seventies, possibly later, on their step sides. Fords have a nicer looking fender. So does Chev, the fender they used in the sixties goes particularly well with the 62 up Dodge body but not so well with yours.

    Gotcha, they have them bigger i just figured id get a rough idea. I planned on being with tires appx 31" in diameter; do you think 36" fenders like this would work? i live in the dc metro area so the parts stores dont have anything like this around here; my truck is at my parents farm in NY so i wanted to order these before i went up because my time to work on the truck is limited

    I tried two parts stores and they looked at me like i was on drugs. Its shocking how much different being in the big city is when looking for stuff (the junkyards are even worse) i really appreciate the site that is perfect

    If they can't get 52 Dodge fenders ask for 1985 Ford Stepside or 1985 Dodge. Both companies used the same fenders for many years, like from the mid fifties up. They should be available reasonable.

    A quick measurement of the fiberglass fenders on my 52 is 43" front to back at bottom, 22" top to bottom, and 11 1/4" wide. Hope this helps?

    Can't give you dimensions, the truck is no longer here, but how about some pictures?
    In 53, Dodge went to the larger fenders they used through about 1980. A 52 Dodge pickup and a 53 Dodge pickup are the same except the rear fenders.
    The Blue truck has 48-52 rear fenders. The teal green 54 Dodge truck has the 53-80 rear fenders.

    Good choice. That's what a 52 should have. I bought my fiberglass copies from Bebops glass works, inc. and the quality is really good. Bruce Horkey cabinetry also used to sell them. If you want steel, they are on Ebay a lot. Have fun with your project.
