Projects 52 Olds Rocket? Is it worth it?

I found a 52 olds and a 56 pontiac chief for $1500 each. They run but need a lot of work. Talked to the guy for a while and before I left he offered both of them to me for a grand. Might sound stupid since it is two cars for a grand and I'm asking if its worth it but I figure I'll ask ya'll any way. What do you think?
