Wrecked my 52 wayfarer this morning. Does anybody know what front clip parts will fite this body. I think 49 to 52 are pretty much same except grill. Not sure if coronet stuff will fit, Anybody know?
yeah man im realy sorry about your ride. im pretty sure all the 49 -53 will fit. good luck on your rebuild. was everyone ok?
Damn! That looks rough. What did you hit/what hit you? Was everything bolted down solid before the crash or just kinda mocked up?
I go to Boneshakers biker bar every sat. am to eat breakfast with some other old car guys. This am a 07 3500 gmc van pulled out in front of me. His fault, his ticket. Just got car on road 2 weks ago. New floors, everything new in front end including fatman dropped spindles and plydo disc kit. New painless 12 volt, langdon hei dist, all new brake and fuel lines, new stainless tank, new rear springs with 4" blocks. Car less than 51000 miles on it. Well what the hell u gonna do. If the frame isn' bent I'm gonna try to get enuf together to fix it. Thanx for ur concern and info Bobl
Hey, Always sorry to see a crunched Mopar! 'glad you're o.k., as well. Plymouth and Dodge share the same sheetmetal for '51 & '52. '49 and ' 50 arn't the same as '51 or'52. The chrome, grills and side stainless are different though. Looks like you may have some frame damage as well. Check motor and trans. mounts, as well and distributor shaft. Swankey Devils C.C.
And they say old cars don't have crumple zones. I'd say your car did it's job! Doesn't look like anything from the cowl back got a scratch! It sucks but it's good that no one was hurt. Todd
That shit will buff out. Glad everyone's ok. How bad did the van you hit look? I reckon your question's already been answered, and I don't know how it is in your neck of the woods, but that must have been a good couple years for Mopar, because I see those things all over the place. And the 4 doors are usually cheap, if not free. So, it shouldn't take you long to get hold of a donor car. And, once you have the donor, assuming you're right about the damage just being to the sheet metal, you could be back on the road in a weekend... I'd love to see some pics of the build? Did you take any? It sounds like you did alot to your Dodge that I plan to do with my Plymouth...
Hope your felling OK. It appears there is suspension damage . Need better pic of the l/f wheel. It appears to be pointing in a different direction than the r/f. R/f door hinge pillar may be out also. You'll need to look carefully at things with the front clip removed. The chassis probably has some damage due to the fact of the wheel positions. Looks like the wheel bore a substantial part of the impact on the r/f. Which could have affected the frame in the control arm mounting areas. Something will need a pull . Best of luck with the insurance company. Keep good notes and documentation ,you may need them.
If you lived a little closer to me I think I could get you all you need to repair it from a couple yards that have a bunch of old stuff, the last time I was in your state I seen what looked to be a junkyard that had a bunch of old stuff but it was in 85. On I 77 there were a bunch of old cars on a hill right off the highway but that was many years ago and looks to be a long distance from you. Jeff
Insurance co. coming mon.or tue . The wheels are slewed out cause the tie rod is bowed down to the ground. Can,t start stripping down til ins. co. has a look. From what I can see the upper control arm may be bent back and the spindle upright may be same. Hard to tell right now. I think I do some have right door hinge problems, but door still opens easily. I,ll know in a couple days, but have go out of town for a few days. I'll take some pictures while I,m rebuilding. Appreciate all ur interest and help. Thanks Bob
