So I was the lucky recipient of a POL/Western Ch***is disc brake conversion for free. The only issue is they say it won’t work with dropped uprights. I noticed most other brake conversions mount the caliper on the front side and can be used with dropped uprights. The one I have is rear mounted. Does anyone know if I can just flip the mounts side to side and be in the clear? Currently mocked up per instructions to see the reason they say it won’t work and it seems the caliper bolts will hit and limit steering. Should I just p*** this kit along and use the Shoebox Central kit instead? Any help would be appreciated.

Just trying things that “might “ work is a dangerous thing with brake conversions. I would much rather work with a product which is engineered for your application even if it uses parts from previous manufactured vehicles. Brake calipers will work in any position but must be bleedable and clear all suspension/steering thru the range of motion needed.
