Im starting this 210 project I picked up in the Sacramento area for $1000 plus $45 for the tow. I have been looking at all the sweet a$$ build threads on here for the last week and wish that I had some of the talent on here.

I know it is 4door but hey gotta start on something right??? The 235 was a bit shakey when I first got it off the tow truck, but parked in the street I changed the cap, wires, plugs, and adjusted the points (and gas) and it fired up and ran pretty good.

I am going to try and start a thread that will follow my build, but be fore warned as the build will be on a budget. My wife has 8 months of school left to be a RN nurse. So its a monthly budget for this guy.

The first thing I did was take the homemade 4 inch lowering blocks (not sure why people think 4 angle shims are good way to lower a ride) and put in 2 inch blocks from Chevys of the 40's.

I have searched all over for info and pictues on how to remove the front clip as a whole with no luck. Anyone with some info on this would be a great help. Pictures would also be nice.

    Thanks

Check out chevytalk.org There is a great 49-54 forum over there worth searching.

And all the front sheet metal comes right off, I know some people take off both fenders, grill, rad support, etc all as one piece still bolted together. I took my grill off first, then each fender individually. If you need to remove the hood, do a search on removing hood springs. A removal tool is very easy to make. I'm sure someone with more experience than I will chime in as well. Good luck

^^^x2 on the Chevytalk.com forum. Used it to rebuild front suspension. BTW doesn't matter how many doors it has if you like it. Have fun.

Ok....Been getting some things done on the car. Got the new repair panels for both lower quaters. Cut out the rot and now just waiting for my buddy to come over and mig them on. He was over the other day and filled in all the body trim as you can see in the picture. I ground the welds down and just put a float coat on them today. Hopefully they turn out ok.

Once the repair panels are on I'll finish up the body work and get it ready for paint. Most likely gonna do it up in hot rod black. I really like that satin finish. Been looking online and thinking of doing the paint myself. I have experience with HVLP sprayers, but have never done a car. Any tips would be helpful!!!! And pros and cons!!! thanks
