Okay guys, I have a decision to make here and have been tossing it over for some time (couple of years) as I've owned the car. I am finally getting my 53 belair 2 door sedan almost to the point of paint and interior design. Please if anyone cares to share, whether they have a car like mine or just wishes to give an opinion on the colors I should paint this car. No mods to it, it is just a daily driver and has a visor for the front. Car was seafoam green with woodland green top and stripe originally, and I'd like to go with a different look than that. It's just not what I'd like at this time. Now I will be shooting this in the driveway, and am a beginner painter so I don't think I can pull off fancy paint jobs. This is a Canadian car and may not be as nice as some of the cars I've seen south of my location. Where I am every one runs v8's in them and I like to be abit different and will stick with my 235. The only change I made was newer seats for comfort and so my leg don't hit the shifter, and to install factory power steering from a 54 belair that was converted to an 8. Any one care to voice their opinion or show me some pics of what they got? Sorry for the typo in the tread ***le should say 53-54
why not a purple or deep burgandy like customs of old maybee look at some newer mopar color chips some trendy colors have been on newer cars
'51 Chevy Thistle Gray maybe with a white top. Won't show dirt like a dark color. Drive the hell out of it... Smokey http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/aclchip.aspx?image=1951-chevrolet-pg01.jpg
Thanks for your opinions guys. Today I am mounting the visor and maybe gonna go check out some paint chips. My wife wants me to go with a metallic teal green with a white top. I agree a white top is great to keep the heat off it but the metallic green may make it to bland? Hard to say maybe white flames licking up the front with a silver pinstripe to break the two colors? Still tossing it over, and I like the suggestions given and I guess it is what suits the driver. Hmmm...... what do I like on this car? I kinda wish it wasn't a belair and had the nice simple lines of the 210 models shown to me, less stainless to fuss over...
Look at the Street Rodder road tour car '51 or '52 from last year - that same color combo & it looked sharp!
