Notpete is right about the lack of crispness of the breaks at the door opening on the 49-52 quarters. If I had it to do over again, I would have cut the door jamb off my EMS pice and kept the stock part.

Here's a couple photos, one looking down, the other looking up. Passnger side of my 52 Fleetline.

Otherwise, the EMS piece could not have fit any better. The above is my only complaint about them.... and they are much better quality than some of the others I've seen.

I agree on the one-piece bumpers...how about a smooth, one-piece hood???...you'd make a killin' from everyone who's warped theirs welding the seams...

They are different, 54's go up and meet the fender behind the park light housing on the grill, the 53's are almost flat except where it meets the radiator area.

I'm in on the one piece bumpers for the '53. I'm getting frustrated trying to figure out what to do! Would be a pain to try to weld up the 3 piece ones and get them slick enough to re-chrome.

  7. I'm gonna repeat the need for front and rear splash pans a second time. Also, I agree with the one piece front cali style bumpers. I really don't like all those bolts or the idea of having to weld all 3 sections together and then grind them down for rechrome, like mentioned above. I could also use a solid 1 piece hood..mine is warped all to hell where the previous owner attempted to weld the sections together. Cheaper replacement teeth for the '54 would be great!! Also the Chrome bar that runs behind the teeth.

One piece Cali bumpers for sure. Otherwise anything previously mentioned. I like the idea of one piece hoods, but I dont like the idea of shipping. Also, even making existing panels, but offering them at lower prices you'd make a killing. Some of them just seem ridiculous. This is especially true of the 54 grille parts. If you could offer repop grill pieces at even 10% cheaper, you'd pull in a lot of the market.

ok thanks for the input, a lot of parts are gonna be made and some of the requests are not. probally should have started another post but we will answer here.

here's what we go so far for the 53/54 chev, ready to ship

    toe boards
    rockers
    rear floor
    lower front 1/4
tailpan, tooling in progress, parts ships about may 1st 2009, order are being taken now for 1st batch,

front floors pans , next up

after that the lower rear 1/4 or inner tailpan also know as trunk floor extension, your comments will rule on this.

4 door guys you are on the list but kind of last.

gravel pans are on the list to do also, but question, on some rear gravel guards there is a groove for a rubber seal between the guard and the bumper. we think the seal is not needed, this groove is a technical tooling issue and we would like to leave it out, comments???

check out the photos of the stuff we have so far

    thanks guys

Re: the rear splash pan rubber seal groove -- I've had a couple of 52's, and I think that it could be eliminated. (This might bother the 100% purist restorers... all three of them.) For the custom/rod people, it would be fairly easy to adapt an extruded rubber seal of some sort and glue it along the edge of the repop piece -- or just do without it like you mentioned.

I would say that a lip of some sort would be necessary to stiffen the edge (and probably improve aesthetics), but a groove wouldn't be necessary.

EMS Thankyou for finally adressing the need for panels for what has become the most popular stovebolt era Chevy ,the 53 and 54. Love your quality and you wont go wrong tooling for this model, I think the demand will be great.

How about the trunk floor without the sunk pan for the spare tire. Trunk wheel wells would be badass too. That is the only thing gone on mine. Rest is in great shape.

I got the ems rockers, problem is they are supposed to be tapered from front to back, there is a 1/4 inch difference. The EMS ones are straight the only way to use them is to cut about a three foot pie piece out and reweld the whole thing.
