i have my heater out cause i was replacing the cables and mine control valve still works at the moment but i dunno when it's gonna go being 56 years old and all. national chevy assoc has one listed but it's not oem and i'm kinda figuring it's just a generic kinda thing they bought and marked up. anyone know what it's off of? if it isn't too much i'd replace it for GPs. http://www.nationalchevyassoc.com/shop-online/product/1218.html
Not sure what they are offering, but I saw this one in an article in Hometown Hot Rod a while back, its generic, too, http://www.chevsofthe40s.com/detail/5943.html but at $32 bucks, I think its too much, I am trying to sourch a cheaper one for my Ford, its just a pipe thread valve with a hose barb at the outlet, I think it may be a generic plumbing fitting, I just haven't found it yet.
you can get generic ones from O'Reillys, just a 5/8 hose end and a lever for the control cable. in the illustrated heater core book
