53-56 Ford Hubs

I'm installing new seals etc. on 37 Ford spindles using 53-56 Ford drums. How are the old seals removed? I don't want to damage the hubs. Thanks.

 

Here's a mechanics trick. Remove the nut, washer and outer bearing. Replace the nut. Quickly pull the hub off making sure the nut is in contact with the inside of the hub. It will catch on the inside of the inner bearing and pop it and the seal out right now. You still need to drive the inner and outer bearing outer races out of the hub with a punch.
