After some skirts like these two attached for my 53 buick special. Does anyone one know what they were originally designed for and who still makes them? Also after reference photos of chopped 53 buick specials, tail light treatments and 50's two tone paint schemes. Cheers
The purple one is a winfield car it now resides in japan try to find someone who knows winfield to ask him. There probably the ones for a shoebox but you could always buy some foam and fibergl*** and make your own. The hard part is making the second one the same mirror image of the first, but then again no one can see both sides at the same time. Have you gone through the big jims web site he has a ton of skirts you can look at to try to find a match.
Thanks Leadsledold, Have found Big Jims and seen skirts for 52-4 ford/mercury, 49-51 ford and 49-51 mercury/55-56 ford. TP is going to send me a picture of his 53 buick with slightly modified 52-4 ford skirts which will give me a starting point for comparing the three different sizes on the buick. Unfortunately a house renovation is higher in the pecking order than learning to make my own skirts, can't forget the garage extension so the buick will fit in! Dam English garages are small! Have you heard of any other manufacturers of bubble skirts for me to try and track down and compare? Gotzy
Gotzy I have found the disc with the pictures. I am waiting on my kids to get up so they can send to you. The skirts I had look like the tan colored buick. Mine were on a special. It won't make a differance if it a riv. i don't think. Give me a little while to get them to you. TP
