Anybody try rebuilding your own lever shocks? 500 bucks for 4 shocks isn't cool to me...mine just leak their oil all over the floor, but seem to work great for the 1 day they hold oil. I'm thinking that replacing a couple of seals would put me bucks ahead, but this is the mentality that usually puts me bucks behind. :)

I'm also curious about this. I've heard it's VERY difficult and can even be pretty dangerous. But if someone has done this, I would like to hear about it. I have some NOS ones that have been sitting for a long time (obviously) and I'm concerned they may need it being that they have been exercised.

I have a 55 and know the drill here. I ran a piece of angle iron across the top and welded 5/8 bolts to the lower contol arm thngies and put modern shocks on it. They didn't work so hot, but there is still some fine tuning to do. Good luck
