Have searched the archives, but can't seem to find anything fits ths problem

Need some guidance here. Have a 53 buick steering wheel that I would like to use on a later model GM column. Column is tilt and appears to be from early 70's. The spline on the column is .690 and the step below is .740 The spline on the buick steering whel is .770 and .830 on the step below. The .740 on the coulmn chaft used to have a lock ring on spline but is now gone.

Is there an adapter out the to make this combination work? If not, what suggestions would you have to use the 53 wheel?

    Thanks

I read on here somewhere that you can pull the shaft out of your columns and cut them off .Then weld a section of you old shaft to the new one.

  4. The best thing to do would be to find a junk wheel that fits your column, cut the center out, and weld or bolt it to the Buick wheel (IRC the Buick has a larger shaft, so it would slide over the small one no problems).
