I need a new turn signal switch for my Vicky. Dennis Carpenter has one, but has a plastic tab instead of the larger metal one the lever moves over. In another forum, I saw a guy that had a problem with this. Anyone here with a 51-55 Ford replace their turn signal switch with a new one?

Up until 1955 turn signal switches were an option in Mainlines and some Customlines, the dealers installed units similar to this:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-C...Parts_Accessories&hash=item19e851a2b4&vxp=mtr If you have rewired the car this works well because it will give you hazard flashers too,I am using this one myself. The forum you referred to 1954ford,and several others have reported the OEM style ones sold by Mac's and Carpenter are a headache in the making.

Thanks for that guys I wanted to keep it stock but I did replace the wiring with a kwik wire kit so I guess I'll go that route.
