  6. I'll shoot for Saturday then lol. Got the vibe some decent cars in your area

  7. There was a shoebox Ford on the way I saw that caught my eye

  8. Scuffed the roof and washed the whole car in preparation to try respraying the roof tomorrow IMG_20240704_193032642_HDR (1).jpg

  9. Aside from some bugs I gotta get out of the paint tomorrow I think I nailed the red thus time lol IMG_20240705_184607423_HDR.jpg IMG_20240705_184622346_HDR.jpg

  10. I think I'm going to clearcoat the roof in a week or so. It came out shiny but nowhere near as shiny as I wanted. I generally like the roof to be shinier than the body on two tone cars. IMG_20240706_122105860.jpg

  11. With some help from @fastcar1953 I not only have the headliner bow and bracket I was missing but also two of the three windshield garnish moulding seam covers I was missing. Also ended up with enough headliner bows for my 54. Super helpful as I'm planning on carpet next quickly followed by a headliner IMG_20240706_182905787_HDR.jpg IMG_20240706_183922536.jpg

  12. Also taking the opportunity to clean up the last of the headliner tack strips for this car IMG_20240706_183929869.jpg

  13. Amazing how much small details can matter to you. Lol. Missing garnish moulding cap for the front windshield had bugged me like four years as I had the original and lost it. Even though the paint faded on the original parts I painted four years ago so that the exact same paint no longer matches it still puts me in a good mood lol. Only need one more for the back glass IMG_20240707_201734790_HDR.jpg

fifteen minutes with some hand tools and a piece of sheet metal and you can make your own

  15. Honestly hadn't progressed to the point where I was overly worried about them. Literally just moved up in priority after spraying the roof considering carpet and headliner is next. Fastcar1953 just happened to have two spares when I stopped by yesterday

yeah, I realize it's a part that you'll grab if one becomes available, but you'll live without it for decades if it's gonna take some work to get one :)

  17. Honestly the headliner bow bracket he gave me would have been easy enough to fab up.....and had I known where that actual bow was I probably would have. But mia too lol. I'll probably make the missing six ones for the 54

  18. Didn't discover till I got home that I bought spot clear instead of panel clear lol. Easy enough to rectumfy by this weekend when I plan to clear the roof. At least the activator is right roflmao IMG_20240708_210749055.jpg

  20. Been so long since I sprayed clear I'll just swap it out lol. Same price and O'Reilly is only a couple blocks away

Will they send you a sample so you know the color matches?

  23. Dunno. Good point. Before I order I'll ask

  24. And minor setback removed. Actually got the right stuff this time lol IMG_20240709_193924979_HDR.jpg

  25. I think after I clear the roof I'm going to work on redoing the trunk lid. As I did it outside in early spring a lot of trash and bugs got into it. Originally was just going to wait till I got to clear coat on it and carefully wet sand the trash out but there are still a few minor dings I missed the first time around.....like if you look dead center you can see a tiny ripple in the reflection. Other than the trash and the few dings it came out perfectly so I'm kinda wanting to go OCD lol IMG_20240709_195028890_HDR.jpg

I don't think anyone will even notice that little ding.

I'll be happy if mine turns out that nice.

  28. My thoughts originally. But it's been catching my eye quite often recently lol. And I have to sand it anyway at some point. Lil glazing putty and good to go lol

  29. I know hard to tell in pic but the roof is nearly scuffed for clear this weekend. I'll come back tomorrow and hit any spots I missed. Oddly most of the trash came out with the scotch Brite......which tells me most of it fell in when paint was mostly dry lol IMG_20240710_185844890_HDR.jpg
