53 chevy chop top

    I would like to chop my 1953 chevy 210 4 door
    the car is all stock and this is the only mod i
    would like to do to it i need to hear form the old time
    hot roders they seem to know a lot more than most i would like ​
    to do about a 5 inch chop but could i go more than that
    or if i go more than that would it be to much anb what is
    the best way to do this thing and were would i need to start

    i need lots of info

    Looks like too much chop, the roof looks sqiushed. I would go with a little less.

    i have not choped it yet the last two pics were done
    on the computer i was not sure if a 5 inch chop would
    be to much

    I say go three inches and if you dont like it, you can cut one more inch. . .I think three inches would be bad ass!
    its alot of work to chop a four door! better get some door tops from a donor car. BTW do you have a few hours to spare on planning? thru the search button in the hamb look for four door to two door conversions! this guys have done some amazing work! copy it, if you like....

    4 at the most ,I think any more ,then things are just not in proportion,this 2 door was done 6 inches at the owners request as he already had a cut down screen to go!
    Also ya wanna keep some shape in the roof,eg , not flat looking, a 54 Nash roof was used on this,
    Even at 6 inches ,visability out the front is not the best'
    Its your car,at the end of the day ,you goota do what you want also;)

    we did a 54 4 door 4" and it was very workable..but then my friend? said 2" more and had all kinds of problems trying to get it straight again...it has to be longer and wider,also if you go 4 you may be able to cut a stock windshield down for the front
