60's show car thing = one extra ^^odification to get X # of show points, Not necessarily because they look good but because you got show points for scoops.

Man that car has a real attitude with that chop! I love it! Did you just lean the bottom of the a-pillars in to match the roof? Also do you have any pics of what you did to the rear of the roof right after you set it on? Just wondering about the width of the roof at the back too. Keep going, I just can't wait to get home every night and check on the progress of this one! This is one cool thread!

Thanks for all the good coments it is very apriciated. It realy makes you want to get in the shop and be creative. Without it it would all be for nothing. We are moving prity fast on this car because we plan to show it at the Lonestar Roundup in April and then drive it to the Viva Las Vegas show two weeks latter. I still have alot of metal work to do like rounding the hood corners and making a neat side pipe treatment. Then it has to be lowered body work painted in a satin copper with a gold flake roof. Oh then the interior so there is a lot of work to be done.

For Hudson Hot Rod the A piller were pulled in with a ratchet strap to line up with the top it was 3/4 of an inch wider at the bottom of the cut. I didn't make a cut at the bottom of the piller but I think I will cut it before I relice the strap to relive some preshure.

In the back I cut a slice in the roof above the drip rail and pulled the top of the quarter windows out about a half inch. I also welded a peace of half inch square stock to saport the roof before I cut the top off.

At first I wasn't a fan of the gills, but seeing this photo I think I'd like them better if they were a longer sweeping transition, rather than a bubble in the hood sides.

Looking good. What did you use in the hood to cover that split between the two halfs?

I welded the seam then used a piece of 3/8" rod welded over the joint to form the peak. Plan to weld in solid but must move slowly to keep from worping the hood. Get it to hot and it will worp in a secent.

Not much progress. It's been prity cold in the shop , may snow tonight. But I started radiousing the hood corners and made some fillers on each end inside of the grill.

Ya, ditto on the lights Kory, sorry. Really dig everything else though! I bet the originals would look really good in there with the elongated housings.
