Hi Butch, I was considering a dark red but orange may be a viable alternative. I like.:) Many thanks for idea.

You are doing a very nice job on the truck. I don't like the fact that you eliminated the corner windows, over here the 5 window cab is the most popular cab and we can even buy pieces to add the corner windows into a cab that doesn't have them.

Of course it's up to you but having driven these trucks both with and without the corner windows I prefer to have the corner windows just for the extra visibility they provide. ( Why GM added them in the first place ,not to mention they look cool )

Anyway carry on you will have a nice truck when done.

I rather like the dark red Idea with the white. The red is pretty well timeless in appearance and I don't think you would tire of it like you might the orange idea.

This build has raised the bar for those of us building AD trucks to a new level.

    Orula,
Man, your truck is just fantastic, congratulations! If you've mentioned it I apologize for asking but what paint products are you using? What primer, paint, etc?

First, let me say that your truck is beautiful and your work is exceptional. Like many of the others, I would have kept the 5-window set-up but you didn't like it and that's what matters to you. With all the investment you made so far you should take this emblem...

… and get another one made up just like it except that it says "Thriftmonster" or maybe "Thirstmaster"

    Hi Dan, thanks for compliments.

I used PPG DP40 Epoxy Primer and Sikkens two-component Acrylic Paint.

    Many thanks

Hi, you think I should change this emblem?
I like the color red, but I do not know if it's suitable emblem.

    Many thanks

First....dude, your putting me to shame on your build speed....your cranking that thing out wicked fast and I'm still yanking my ganger on mine....plus your quality of work is/continues to be exceptional.

Second, if you dont like the red in the emblem pop it off, and carefully scrotch brite (I found a ripped off corner of a scuff pad on the top of an eraser works well) to rough up the red, then flow some white paint over the white....prior to filling the centers with paint coat the chrome edges with vasoline for those little whoops's...

That said I dont know how transparent your white is so it may not be white with the color red as the substrate....you may have to carefully strip the red totally out....

    **Edit/Addition**
I was just re-looking at your lastest accomplishments on the truck and realized something that you may want to think about....I was looking at the very pretty inner fenders and how shiny they were....seeing as I have visited italy (all over) and know how the roads are you may want to think about laying a buffer of some sort to absorb the shock of the rocks that your tires kick up and through into the inner fender....

If you don't you'll run the risk of putting dents (and paint stars) from the inside out on the tops of your fenders....I used Lizard Skin sound deadener on my inner fenders...the good part about it is you can sand it down and top coat it with paint....

Only reason I bring it up is I would hate for that ultra nice paint to get buggered up once you start driving the dog poo outta that fine three winder....

Hi Salty, first thank you for the advice.

Because of my poor English I could not say that to me I really like the emblem in red :), but I was wondering how would the white instead of red.

And then, the emblem with the words Thriftmaster is best for my project? Thriftmaster What does it mean?

    Many thanks

I think it would look awesome it white and not so "in your face"....

As far as the Thriftmaster title is concerend Thats just what it was/is, i don't think it's a bad thing at all....matter of fact I like it cause it's a contradiction of terms.....not much thrifty about your truck (not meant in a bad way)
