Hey guys, got this 53 Crestline last fall for a daily driver, and I'll be starting it's rehab to make it street worthy soon as the snow melts. Thanks for the big welcome; make me feel like a beer at a barbecue!! Anyway, I picked this car up in Pa. just like you see it( if the pix get here) otherwise they're in my profile. Epoxy primer, semigloss with some cool pinstriping and a 5.0L & AOD from a 89 crown vic. Ford in a Ford I always say!! Still has original brakes and steering, which is my first point of rehab. Scared the sweat outa me when she didn't stop coming down the hill!! Picked up a used ECI front disc conversion and plan on a dual master cyl. with power booster. Steering is also "not too hot", but once I ***ess the whole car, I'll be able to see what else it needs. No grill when I got it, so I'll have a reason to go to swap meets soon. Might try a custom stainless unit I sketched using 3/16 ss rod. I can't count all my projects on 2 hands, so I'll keep you updated as I go. No booze, no smoke, no kids, so all the toys are mine! Ed.
looks good. will be following along to see what ideas i can get from ya. and yeah, a ford in a ford is a great idea.
I've never seen a cowl-induction hood scoop on a '52-4 ford hood, but I guess there is a first time for everything? Best of luck to you!
Looking good! I can't wait to see progress pics. I can also help you out with photoshop ideas when the time comes (different grille treatments, maybe?).
