Finally got the T5 bolted up to the flathead and test fitted in the car. Just need to fab up a transmission mount and cut the hole for the shifter. But it looks like I'll need another motor mount, this was a brand new speedway mount. Front end with the Aerostar springs and motor back in. Soon it'll all come back out to be torqued to spec and painted. Then finish the 12 volt conversion, get a drive shaft made and swap rear ends and I should be done!
Let me guess, the mount was not USA made? Maybe this is better quality? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1949-1953-F...ts-pair-Coupe-Sedan-Convertible-/161177984343 Ask seller B4 you buy. Several members including myself have had issues with motor mounts separating, the ANCHOR brand is no longer a USA made mount and the Chinese and India made rubber is BAD news.Steele Rubber is all 100% USA made rubber:http://www.steelerubber.com/search?...l=customline&style=4-door-sedan&q=motor+mount
It's the mounts Speedway sells but I tossed the box so I don't know what it said on it. I'll order the ones from Steele. Thanks!
