Honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but I only replaced a section of mine. They didn't turn out perfect by any means, but there's solid metal there now where there used to be smashed rusty metal. Some of the filler I couldn't even chisel out, I had to use a wire wheel to clean everything up prior to installing the new pieces.
update: got a 64 t bird rear seat here for it! Lol I guess I'm going full medium kustom with it. I also have a trunk lock assembly and tail light assemblies from a 53 meteor customline for it. Also going to change up the steering setup for 56 lincoln premiere column and wheel. On top of that I gotta add AC. Baby Henry is due in 2 weeks and I gotta be able to take him to shows and cruise with him and the wife.
side note: kid already has a crap on tool box, a ford night light, a (reproduction) deuce grille and a 50 panhead in his room. He might just have the 54 plymouth grille I saved for this customline hanging on his wall. Hank gets my vote for coolest baby room ever. And his mother gets my vote for being legit being a mom to a hot rod kid.
Nice job on the baby's room. The changing table/tool box is very practical actually. All the best to your family with the new baby on the way. I like the term "full medium kustom"
Still haven't given up on this one. There's more to come. I messed up a couple weeks ago and scrubbed the rear tire against the curb parallel parking and messed up the White wall. Now my friend group is joking about how I need curb feelers. But the ol gal is still my daily driver. I'm working on saving up to throw windshield wipers on, but it's still here.
