And, of course, there's always something to be found on Rikster's site. http://public.fotki.com/Rikster/11_...ars/52-54_ford_custom_cars/52-54_ford_custom/
Mine has the good old DeSoto grille in it, from a '52. Fits nice in the opening but doesn't match up to the pan or stock bumper very well. I would like to find a '51-'52 DeSoto front bumper and pan to swap onto my car (I was never really fond of the '53 stock front bumper to begin with)
The 52 Ford grill is way cool with the center bullet. The Pontiac grill always looks good. Corvette teeth look awesome as well. You can use the teeth from a 53 Chevy on a floater bar. Here is a couple pics of my 53 Chevy grille with extra teeth. Good luck. Thesneakytiki
Here is mine. There was a tech post awhile back done similar with a different bar that was killer but, I don't know where it is know. Maybe someone will post it.
I found the post but the pix are gone http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42385 But there are some of it here http://www.ruffrodders.com/cgi-bin/ib/ikonboard.cgi?;act=ST;f=111;t=10299
Thanks for all the good ideas, i think i will go with a 54 pontiac grill. Does anyone have a spare one?
Your Ford grill mouth opening is about identical to '53-'54 Chevy car. Run a complete '54 grill/park lights.
here is my 53. the first picture is with a tube grill the second is what it looks like now with vw bug bumper guards.
I used a '55 Plymouth in my '53 back in 1963 when I was in High School and easy almost bolt in swap, was Lookin'Good!
this one was done by Dante, I always liked it but could never remember what its from. sorry ****py pic.
THAT... is ****in schweet. perfect fit, and covers up the nose of the fenders where the parking lite surrounds were. nice. got any other pics of it?
