I've seen them used before and they look really nice done right..

If you need one, i got one
No chrome left on it, so it'll be perfect for blasting and welding in:D..

Or i do have a set of the side's in chrome, but even they need to be redone to be 'perfect'...

Thanks. I got one already from forsaken. Just at that point were I'm wondering where to cut! I've seen this application before on a few mercs and shoeboxes...The 49 opening is about 8 inches smaller. So I figure I'm going to cut out of the middle of the top and bottom piece to fit it in. I don't think mig is the way to go on this; should I braze it in? Any help?
    thanks

I wouldn't braze it. I'd tig weld it.

It's pretty thin metal, and i think you'd have more heat control with the tig, plus it will give you a nice clean flat weld..

I did actually mig some hand formed pieces on the outside panels of my 53 surround before i sent it out for chrome. Didn't work too bad, BUT i did have some distortion i had to work out once i was done....

Ron, Thats the shit man. I was even thinking about a vette grill. Don't really have access to a tig. Did you have to cut the top and bottom piece down?

I used a mig, I did not cut down the top or bottom. I cut away the ribbed areas, had to v cut the spears to bend them around the fenders, make panels the replace the ribbed areas, and reshape the front of the hood.
