You are coming along fine here, great job and thanks for poating the pics! Everything looks great with just one thing to think about. Is your fan a Flex Fan? If it is, they have a tendency to "pull" forward when spun up.... like a propeller and WILL drill a perfect 17 inch hole in your radiator. I know from experience lately because I got lazy and didn't change mine. After the money exchange for another radiator I went with a 17 inch all steel eom style fan. It pulls lots of air.

Keep up the great work here!

I agree this looks great. When you're done I'll let you come over and help me with mine too. Bring your wallet though because I may need that too.

thanks everyone, and sorry 54hotrod ive already spent my unborn sons college fund on this thing. i do have a steel fan so i wont have any flex. does anyone know what the wire coming out of the steering box is for, i ripped all my wiring out completely and got a rebel wiring harness and this is one wire im not sure about. also anyone know a place to get gauges? ebay is hit or miss. my needles are all broken.

Are you looking for original gauges? If you're looking for original it is hit or miss anywhere. I just got a replacement for mine and it took six months to find one that was good and not over priced in my opinion. Good luck on this search.

I would put a wanted add out here and on fordbarn.com

The wire coming out of the steering box is the horn wire,it comes from the horn contact in the column.Hook it to one side of the horn as ground, the other side is hot from the new wiring harness.

everything is now centered in and bolted down, now to mount the new shifter and start all the tedious hooking up of things. and to start re wiring the whole thing. got the openings of my rear wheels opened up, sanding them down and getting all 4 wheels painted this week hopefully.

The fact that fans will pull towards the rad is not exclusive to aluminum fans. I have noticed that stock steel fans will "pull" towards the rad as well. Just make sure that there is enough clearance.

That looks great . Didn't seem to be too bad of an alteration on the mounts either .
Don't you just love the fun of building a hotrod ! Sounds like you are getting closer to that point of driving it real soon . How much more do you have to do to it now ?

im not sure exactly what headers they are, my next door neighbor used to restore mustangs and had these laying around and sold them to me for 50 bucks. dont know what brand they are but they fit. i made an album on my profile that has a shot of them attached to the engine but i will get some of them in the engine compartment for everyone.
