awww fuck!! so i tried to do something other than cutting off the roof and all i got out of it was a buisness class ford. man! well id like to thank all of you for your input(good or bad). im just gonna chop the rest of the roof off and go with my original plan. im so bummed! this is my first project so i guess ill learn from my mistakes. if you have any ideas please let me know. heres some pics. i took out 5 inches from the rear window mid section and moved it. the way i cut it seems as though cutting the rest of the roof off might be a problem. anyhow if you have any input ill take it. thanks.
Your idea of chopping the car was to section the roof and move the rear glass 4" forward? Man, this is getting wierd.
I ain't telling him to do shit!!... He can do all he wants to do to his car.... Just gave my opinion is all.....
i sectioned it 5 inches and moved the rear glass forward. i think it would look cool with a longer trunk. i dont know i have had this car for a year and havent done shit to it now i have im thinkin what did i do. mabey im just indecicive. i should have stuck with my original plan. and now i will. only ill have a streached trunk. check out the pic.
Hey T-rav don't get discouraged, it can be overwelling chopping a car.... Try to find some books and videos and how to chop that particular car... I'm chopping my 59 it was kind of a bitch at first but it worked out in the end...now if I can only cut that glass without messing it up....
yeah , im a pretty intence person.thanx man. i hope it works out. never know, sometimes fuck ups become somethin great!
Guy around my parts had a car with a similar concept, cut off the roof, weld up the doors, and he sectioned shitloads out of the body. It wasn't to my taste, but he loved it. Ive seen some pretty weird shit in my time - get it in proportion, who knows? Its your car and if you know your way round a set of tools get into the fucker and the hell with the rest! Life aint about getting a seal of good housekeeping anyway...
gotta agree with sko_ford. . . the bidniz coupe look is sweet, but DEF do a HT for it. . . with all that tin sliced out of that thing behind the package tray, you're almost there if you'd want to chop the top an keep the stock glass in the backlite... just lean the lite forward, then lift it enough to keep the entire leading bottom edge above the quarter. smooth's out the lines in the back of the roof, and allows about 5" of chop from the rear without really chopping it that much... should also get around 3-4" out of the front and the top will flow like butter on a hot day PS... to get the business coupe look from what you have, you dont need to lengthen the decklid, just the deck from the lid to the glass... i have thought about that trick on my 54 more than once
