I finished repairing the last of the floor braces. Im hoping to get the rest of the braces in this week and get the front pans in next week. I had to make my own ends, where the stock had rotted off. compared to the factory
That parts car interior looks to be in great shape. Hope you can part out enough to recoup your purchase price of it, lottsa nice stuff there. Looking forward to seeing this done, as I am sure you are. Good luck bro. ~sololobo~
hey bro, never tried the back glass but this is proof that cutting a windshield is not magic good luck! btw your floors are turning out awesome! keep it up!!!
The doors on the 54s had 1/4 inch drain holes in them that quickly rusted shut. The rain would run down the window channels and actually fill the doors up about 1/4 full. My high school car did that and my 16 year old repair was somewhat less sucessfull then yours. Nice job on the metal work
Hood looks good, I like the peak you put on the nose. I have plans for my hood aswell, did you use any lead or just weld buildup? MrC.
when you get back of the nose and more into the center of the hood you gotta weld really slow or you'll oil can the hell out of a 2 piece hood. I have found using an air gun to quench the weld and welding slow and alternating to have pretty sweet results.
I have already sold almost 200 worth of stuff. basically the seats, and the spare tire. worked out well so far. I will be posting more stuff as I get what I need off it.
Spent about 3 hours tonight trimming up and drilling holes for the plug welds on the front passenger side pan, it was a lot of work but its well worth it. Not pictured but i also replaced the front floor support with my repaired one. I will have time this week to trim the other side up and weld them in.
You're really making some progress and I admire the welding & bodywork skills you have. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing!
Thank you.I'm 21 and Ive only been doing it for a few years now but I learn more and get better by the day. I got the other front pan welded in and took out what was left of the drivers side front floor support and replaced it with the repaired one I also pulled the inner fenders/ vent tubes off of the parts car. they are a little dirty but No rust or rot to be found! They should look like new after some elbow grease.
Just read through your post, nice work, will look trick when done, makes me even keener to finish my 47 chev, keep the good work going, cheers from down under, HULK
