You all have been so helpful, maybe you can help me get past the next issue I have. I have a 54 Chevy 3100 that I picked up about 20% restored. The previous owner cut out the old gas tank and the seat pan. He bolted some electric seats from a Buick regal with some cheap mounts.

I have since purchased a fully restored bench seat from a 53 3100. I was told it was coming with the seat rails and the platform, but it did not. So now I have a bench seat with no way to mount it. I posted in the classified on HAMB and have found people with the rails, but the platform (Pan) seems to be welded to the floor, so I can't get that. Is there anyone that knows of a modern set of rails that come with risers so that I can mount the seat that way?

  2. I would get some measurements and head to the junkyard to see what would be close. I did a 53 12 years ago and removed that riser and tank also. The next thought is reproduction parts from someone like Classicparts.com

Try the brackets/adjusters from a 88-98 chevy truck. They volt to flat floor.

    Too bad you`re in Texas.
I just plasma cut a riser out of my `50.

You`re welcome to it but it`s a long drive...

Adapt, Take a small, no take several small well sharpened chisels and a good hammer, find I decent seat apron and go for it. I just did the same for my 54 3100. You'll be surprised how easy the tack welds break loose. Take it to a vise or solid flat surface and flatten out the bumps. I drilled and used self tapping screws and it turned fine. Now if only I could find a nice bench seat with adjustable runners.
