Anyone out there have a 54 automatic column? I scored one off of a 55, but it was way too short. Tried adapting it, but by the time I lengthened it, it just wasn't right. Then I made one and while it looks ok, it's not what I want. If anyone has one, please let me know. Thanks! Rocky
Or keep your standard column and add this:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mr-Gasket-U...Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d41183a6a&vxp=mtr Or give this a good read:http://fordfalcon2000.com/restoration/tiltcolumn.htm the older Falcons had the "deadly spear" as do our 50's Fords so the adaptation is about the same and a later column will be C4/AOD friendly and safer.
I've got one, in my car in indy. I'd be interested in your stick column if it didn't mean me working on a car right now and mailing it to ya'. If you're interested in the winter and haven't figured something out, let me know. You could also run a dished steering wheel to solve your problem. I do believe that with the safety steering wheel, the edge of the wheel is the same length as a '54 ford. I'd have to do some measuring and looking to see for certain, but I would ***ume the same length
Thanks for that info Jeff, I forgot about all of that. And CC, I will let you know what I decide to do!
