When taking the master cylinder out of my 54 Chevy 210, I noticed that the hole in the clutch pedal arm is much larger than the rod that activates the clutch. Should there be a bushing in there? If so, where can I get one? The usual vendors don't list anything. Thanks Todd
There should be a threaded rod with a slight bend in it that attaches to the clutch fork. There's a jam nut that locks the rod to the fork. Then, there's another piece with an eyelet on each end, that goes over the "barb" end of the threaded rod. Confused yet? I'll go out in a few and snap a picture of mine. To answer your question, No, there's no bushing. You might just have some worn parts? Hard to say.
Sorry, I miss understood the question. Yes, there is a thin bushing where the brake pedal, and another where the clutch pedal pivots.
While we,re on the subject can anyone tell me where the spring for the clutch pedal attaches to the pedal and frame?
It's really hard to explain. I'd take pics but the car isn't here at home. I'll try to explain it again without confusing myself: Simply put the clutch linkage attaches to the clutch pedal ***embly. There is a hole in the clutch pedal ***embly that the clutch linkage goes thru. A cotter pin keeps it from slipping out. However, the hole in the clutch pedal ***embly is much bigger than the clutch linkage rod and it looks like there is a fair bit of wear because of this. The shop manual is useless- not one good photo. If anyone has a part's book it might show it there. Slide- I'll check that part number you gave me. Maybe that's what I need. Todd
Slide-just checked that PN-that's not it. That's the bushing for where both pedals pivot in the MC. Todd
