I am new to here and need some help with my '54 Chevy 210 4-door. I am trying to figure out how hard it is to rebuild the sealed driveshaft that is leaking or if it would be cheaper and easier to get a solid driveshaft and different rearend. I am very low on money and trying to get this car running again so I can possibly get rid of a car payment.

I did a t5, live axle swap for about $500, including a brand new driveshaft for $200

Main board will get a lot more answers.

But, I did a 76 Nova rear with 2.93 gears. Saginaw 4 speed. driveshaft from the Nova fit like it was made for it. Ya need a bell for a 6 cyl truck to mate to a later trans with the larger bolt pattern. ***uming it's a stick.

Even the parking brake stuff worked out simply.
