Just the bar and teeth swapped. Park light housings and everything else still 53 Chevy. I know I can't be the first to think of doing this. And I happened to have both a spare 54 grill bar and an extra 53 grill bar to compare to each other. Aside from being a couple inches wider everything else on the 54 bar lines up. If a 57 grill bar doesn't appear in the near future I'm thinking the 54 bar would be a half decent mild custom touch. Especially as I like the 54 teeth better. Anyone by chance happen to have any pics of a 53 Chevy with a similar swapped in 54 bar?
My first car was a 53 Bel Air hardtop. I just added more 53 teeth which was easy and looked good to me but that was 63 yeas ago.
I might have considered the extra stock teeth in the stock 53 grill if every bit of chrome in my grill wasn't trash. But all of the chrome is junk on it. And even bad chrome 53 teeth are pricey. I already have a spare 54 grill bar with decent chrome and one passable chrome center tooth for each car.
