It has always looked so easy? I picked up a '54 grill for my '51, low and behold it's 6" narrower than the equivalent Ford center section piece. Im thinkin about buying another grill and splicing them together. Any suggestions or experience on the topic?

    Thanks!

You could use the 54 parking light housings & do some careful grinding to get them to match the 51 fender contour. OR, try to use the end pieces from your 51 grille to bridge the gap between the outer teeth & the 51 parking light housing.

Figure out how many teeth you are going to use then figure out the spacing so you can hide the splice behind a tooth on each side.

For some reason, I never even thought it would require splicing until I held it up to the car. Unfortunately, I don't have a 51 grill, somebody used a 54 Pontiac grill. Here's basically what Im shooting for, guess I'll need 2 grills?

Looks like a stock upper brow and two 54 grill bars sliced together with lots of teeth.

I was planning on selling it. Chrome looks perfect, but it's got a small crease. Let me know if you want pics.
