I purchased a 54 Chevy with these rear bumper extensions, they seem to just install over the bumper ends. The previous owner told me they are very rare. Any Idea? Are they rare? They are in good shape and I plan to remove them. Help me out here if you know are they a factory option?
That is the factory accessory bumper tips, 53 and 54 used the same piece on the rear. They used to be easy to find, but now its not as easy! Lowrider guys dig them. They can also be used as a start to crazy custom bumper.
Not sure on how rare they are but, i've had my fiddy fo for 2 years know and i've never seen any of them. They look kewl as hell and add a custom look to the bumper. If ya want to sell them let me know and how much ya might want for them.
I have them on my '53. I have all of those accessories though, I think my car got locked in the local Pep Boys one night... (sorry, not a good pic. the only one i have really showing the bumper in my photobucket...) I like them. I plan to leave mine on.
those are called "wrap-arounds" by the accessory types. they are worth a few bucks. put them on e-bay or check out the cl***ifies at chevybombs.com you should get about $250 for the pair if they are not rusty or bent.

I have them on my 54 as well........starting to not be so rare huh?! Alway planned on removing them and selling them off.
