Here's something I thought about last week and actualized this afternoon. Remember the 'TIT' I peaked in the front of the grille surround? Well I thought about it and said that a bullet valve cap would look really cool in there. So I chopped the 'TIT' off and welded a stud in there.
Now I have a situation where I can put on different valve caps as the mood or festive seasons strike me.
I still think you need the water gun attachment that shoots people crossing the street, but yeah I like the cap better than the spike you had earlier. Looks "intentional" now. Nice looking work on the rest of it too, by the way.
Here's the front of my baby. My pal Louis who's an incredible painter, that's his job, is gonna paint her for me. He's exchanging my wife doing a DJ gig for his wedding for the paint job. He's got a booth and top notch equipment. He rolled up in his gorgeous '61 Chevy Brookwood wagon this afternoon. He's airbagged the*****er, I'm no big fan of airbagging but this black wagon looks so cool slammed on the ground. I'm lucky man, I've got some really good pals on my side.
man Nads, thats starting to look like something straight out of the lil pages. KOOL. hows it gonna be painted? fades or panels would look******in or a kandy with fades and pearl
SO your exchangeing your wife for a paintjob! Just kidding, good idea, i´ve thougt about doing that on headlights...
Butt I'm going the flake route man, something you're intimitely familiar with. She's gonna be 30% flattened dark purple on the main body with gloss purple flake on the roof and below the '56 Buick molding on the lower body. I'm thinking about doing discreet silver scallops on the metalflake parts. It's not set in stone yet, but I've got to have her painted by the Rumbler's show on Feb 8th. Plus I really want to drive out to The Lonestar Round Up. These are the goals for '04.
Yeah Sid, I thought about what I wrote a tad bit slower than I posted it. Foot in mouth as usual. I'm swinging but I'm no********....except on the weekends. Did anyone ever tell you you like Jim Skafish?
I'm just a drunk****** enjoying what life has to offer. Thanks for the input folks. If it wasn't fun I wouldn't be doing it.
The Nadsmobile is takin' shape...and I'm diggin' it!! The rear window treatment and tail-light/quarter mods rock!!
cool idea with the threaded spike.....have any Jarts? cool pool cue? duck head? [ QUOTE ] Did anyone ever tell you you like Jim Skafish? [/ QUOTE ] "Work Song". dang, that's wawa-y-y-y deep in the realm of trivia. he's the guy with the Emo hairdo, right?
hehe...neat...CAN'T WAIT to see this*****er....painted and on the ground crusin... All the best CHEERS MAIKI
Nads lookin good, your a inspiration.I was goin to do a sunvisor on mine the valvecaps would look good on there..Lookin forward to seeing her finished.
FA, yeah that's him. Have you ever heard the song "Sink Or Swim" by him? That's one strange song. Also it's pronounced SKAY fish not SKA fish. I gotta say Dan I don't think we'll be hearing music like this again, that might be a good thing.
Nads its lookin really****S? The whole car I meen. I`m close to putting paint on my car. I bought some low gloss black enamel, but I`m thinkin of going with a dark metallic green in low gloss. I wonder if I could add some green metallic base to the enamel?
Lookin' good Nads, gonna be weird seeing it in paint. This kinda goes along with your screw on spike--it's those thread on spikes for jackets used to fill trim holes (I know, it's a vdub) but kinda cool if you can't weld, and those spikes are cheap on ebay.
Hey John, rocking good news. I tell you what when I painted my '57 Chevy in lacquer I added some white pearl right in the paint. It was a very subtle effect that was only visible in the sunlight. Black might be too dark to carry the green. My '57 was Tropical Turquoise. Do a test on the wife's fridge, she won't mind. Are you gonna have her ready for the Turkey Run? I hope so.
