I Got A Desoto With A Fire Dome In It And Was Wondering If Anyone Knew If It Was Worth Rebuilding Or Not Or If You Had Any Info On These.:d
What size is it? Mine is plenty of fun, it's going to cost a pretty penny compared to more popular engines to rebuild it, but it' worth it IMO.
no **** man. love me some desoto. no. its not worth rebuilding. go with a small block chevy. much easier.
I ll probably hold on to it since everyone is so anxious to buy it. It s obviously worth keeping. If I do sell it Ill let u know.
Maybe. There's a '54 or '55 DeSoto out here in Haltom City, TX that has its Hemi and 3spd auto in it. It needs valve covers (of course ) and valvetrain for the driver's side, but otherwise appears to be complete. $300 for anything you want to grab...
I think, also, that Hemis should be saved & built. Downside... All Hemis are expensive & DeSotos are the highest. Also the least aftermarket parts, but that seems to be improoving. Upside... Many events you'll have the only Hemi there, or the only DeSoto. If you want to yank it, it's smaller & easier to fit than a Chr. People will ask if it's a 392...Tell 'em yes & it got 1000+ H.P.!
