Thanks mjlangley but it looks like they don't have much '52-'54 stuff yet.

  5. Ever see the street/drag racing episode of the old cop show "Adam 12". Google/You Tube it and check of "Reeds" '52-'54 (sorry don't remember which year)Drag Ford.

Thats the reason for wanting a 54, to do one up like the shows 54, but not with a FE. He ran 11.11 in 1/4 and hoping to be in that area, should not be that hard with my 557 ci. I grew up in so cal and mom took us to Lions alot in late 60s and remember seeing that episode when I was young, and have it saved on my favorites. Cool of you to let the cat out of the bag, lol.

  7. Still remember seeing that episode the first time, I was probably 6 or 7. I remember Gary Crosby's character being a smart *** talking smack how he was gonna blow Reeds doors off, only to break on the starting line and get his own doors blown off. We had a 52 with a 3 on the tree and I believe a flat head?, when I was young. There is an all original BabyBlue tudor by my buddys house. I don't need another project, but I keep thinking I need to stop by and see if they're interested in selling. It would make a cool survivor/driver.

Advance1 and I thought about that movie even before the '54 came along, but once we got a hold of the '54 we wanted to see if we could find any history on it!

Does anyone like the 70s bracket racer look or does it fit on this site, car is getting sanded down and its taking some time as the old paint is hard and it has taken about 4 hours just on the roof and thats with air, man are my arms tired, lol. Have car in garage finally and will put this project ahead of the 5 others that I keep putting on the back burner. Will post pics soon on the steering box issue and some other stuff.

That's a pretty important segment of Adam-12. If anybody is looking for it, the ***le of the episode was, "WHO WON?" It is episode number 100.

(I bought the whole collection to find this episode! Not too stupid...it went on sale and I got all of 'em on DVDs: $39.95!)

Kent McCord was a family friend of the Nelsons (Ozzie, Harriet, David, Rick)

    I knew Rick for years

I am on my 11th '54 Ford Coupe. When I lived in Aptos, there was this elderly man that drove a cherry green one...V8, Stick/Overdrive. It was 1972, and I just found my F100.

In 1992, my son and I were reading the cl***ifieds (San Jose) He saw an ad, we took a ride to the foothills. There was the Aptos '54! On a car trailer, $600. (not running)
I told Rich about the car, and where it was from. We looked for Pacific Ocean rust...there was NONE!

Rich bought me the car for Fathers Day, a week later. We brought it home to A****er, and I blew some air in the tank; replaced the rubber fuel line at the fuel pump, connected a fresh battery and it started on the first turn!
Good oil pressure, smoked for 2 minutes, then cleared up...we took a ride around the road surrounding the orchard. It ran like a top.

It is now getting a '37 Plymouth tube axle, some custom 1.75" semi elliptic front springs I made up, a narrowed 9" w/31 spline 4.11, and a 406 w/ '68 heavy duty 3 speed top loader and Jeep tower, 'big stick'.
I'll do a series of pics soon, just finished my building out back. GREAT THREAD!

Was down and out for a month (jan) but back on it the last week or so, more pics to come. I sand blasted the interior got most of floors done and 8 point bar in, inside roof painted ford gray, mocking up bench seat that I took out of a 68 merc parts car I have, saves on upholstery costs. Bought speedways 460 crossmember and trans mount, also picked up thier b/b chevy fenderwell headers to try and make them fit in this car with my 557ci. bought a 56 ford truck H/D steering box off of c/l as my old one was to far gone to fix. Also now working on firewall and brake pedal setup to make it safer (stronger).

Its good to see some updates, looking forward to more. Many years ago I p***ed on buying a '54 Country Squire and regret it to this day. I'd thought about buying it and dropping in a 429 and toploader but other projects got in the way. If I can find a decent sedan delivery I'll be following your path.

Today I mocked up eng/trans so I could finish floor and firewall, had to modify speedway eng. mount and the B/B chevy headers are going to fit just fine after welding B/B ford flanges on them. Could not finish floor because I ran out of gas for my welder man I hate that, lol. So back at it tomorrow after I go pick some more up. Will post more pics soon. And thanks for all the good comments.
